Documents for the 2026 extraordinary regularization — mandatory for all
Official application form
Available on the official portal of the Ministry of Inclusion. It must be filled out correctly and signed. A form with incorrect data may result in the dismissal of the case.
2. Passport or travel document
Complete copy of passport, identity card, or valid travel document in Spain. Provide all pages, including blank ones.
3. Input test before January 1, 2026
- Passport entry stamp
- Registration certificate dated before January 1, 2026
- Medical report, rental agreement, or arrival card
4. 5-month uninterrupted stay test
This is the most important documentary requirement. Any document with your full name and a date will suffice. It is recommended to provide several:
- Certificate of registration (necessary but not sufficient alone)
- ✅ Utility bills or purchase invoices in your name
- ✅ Proof of payment for transportation
- ✅ Plane, train, or bus tickets
- ✅ Money transfers — Western Union, Bizum, bank transfers
- ✅ Payroll, employment contracts, or Social Security registrations
- ✅ Medical appointments, health reports, prescriptions
- ✅ Children's School Certificates
- ✅ Bank statements with transactions in Spain
- ✅ Rental or supply agreements
⚠️ The registration alone is not enough. Combine it with at least 2 or 3 additional documents that prove real activity in Spain.
5. Criminal record
From Spain: The Administration checks it ex officio. You don't need to request it.
From the country of origin and countries of residence for the last 5 years: You must provide it legalized or apostilled and translated by a sworn translator.
Request a criminal background check as soon as possible.
If the Administration does not receive a response from your country within 3 months, they will require you to provide them within 15 days. If you do not, they will close the file. They can take weeks to arrive.
6. Administrative fee and photograph
Model 790, code 012 — 38,28€. Recent color photograph, white background, passport size.

- Employment contracts, payroll, or Social Security registrations
- Or else: Job offer longer than 90 days in a year
- Or else: Self-employment declaration form
Family Way
- Family book or birth certificates of the children
- Certificate of Coexistence or Family Registration

Vulnerability Path
- Vulnerability certificate issued by social services or RECEX entity
- Sealed and accredited by the competent authority

Can I submit documents in English or French?
No certified translation. All documentation must be in Spanish.
Is the *empadronamiento* sufficient to prove the 5 months?
No. It's necessary but not sufficient on its own. Combine it with bills, tickets, medical appointments, bank statements, or other documents with your name and date.
What happens if they ask for more documentation after I submit?
You have 15 days to provide it. If you don't reply within that timeframe, they will close the file. It's essential to stay on top of the Ministry's notifications.
Can I submit copies or do they have to be originals?
Electronic filing supports digital copying. For in-person filing, the office will scan the documents. Always keep the originals in case of future requests.
